it's hallowe'en at chinatown tonight and the reigning winner isn't there to judge... how sad! i'm actually not anywhere to be halloweeney at the moment. i'll just have to satisfy by getting über dolled up for melbourne cup on the 7th!

and i was gonna be the hottest pirate around too! maybe i'll just dress like a pirate for jean-lou's birthday party, you know, for the fun of it!

speaking of j-l, he needed a model for some new colours that he just got into the salon and i was game so a new cut and colour, snappy happy and hopefully his partner can airbrush me enough to be *poster perfect* (literally! he wants to use the shots for a poster!)

i took a couple myself... still not 100% with the colours because the vibrant red bled into the warm blonde and turned it pink. j-l says it should wash out in about 3 washes (i've managed one since wednesday!) and i will end up with my tri-lights of warm blonde, copper and vibrant red...





i'm throwing a few more photos up while i'm at it... they were on the same memory stick as my hair shotz!

this is a bird's nest that, we reckon, the rainbow lorikeets (in their noisy arrogance) knocked out of our eucalypt tree.



this is my kat all chilled out under the bay window... she was like this for about half an hour before i decided to take her picture!



this is j and i last sunday after a rather successful morning tea, my first proper morning tea! i baked scones... they got gobbled up so fast with jam and cream! ... and i made a tasty chocolate, heart-shaped cake and we served some little savory finger foods and tea and coffee! wow... we're truly back in the commonwealth!



this is my krazy kat who drinks water from the bathtub. this time she was so thirsty she didn't wait tilll j was done, she just hopped right in there too! she actually will drink water served to her in a dish if it's fresh and at the right temperature (lukewarm in winter and served with ice cubes in the summer!)... so spoilt... dunno why ;)



and this is j and minou chillin out in the hammock last weekend. we're very happy that we found a perfect place for the hammock in our new yard. you'll find me there for most of tomorrow i think!

just wanted to post a little post about my Nanna who passed away peacefully yesterday, surrounded by her loving husband and their five daughters. there is something so special about the word "grandmother", it's such a warm word, full of comfort and love. even though i lived far, far away for my whole life, i was always able to have the warm-fuzzy-brown-paper-packages-feelings that the thought of Nanna brings.

she will be missed but we are all so lucky for the time we had together.
